Found it. Your system has four separate symbol list files that have drifted apart, so different parts of your setup show different sets of securities: 1. /var/www/openalgo-chart/api/symbols.yaml — 14 symbols The LIVE one. Chart app, Renko VIDYA bot, and all data fillers (incremental_filler, integrity_lock, daily_spot_fill, gap_detector) read this. = 11 stocks + BANKNIFTY + CUPID + CRUDEOILM 2. /home/ubuntu/bots/daily_vidya_bot/daily_vidya_symbols.yaml — 13 symbols Same list but NO CRUDEOILM 3. /home/ubuntu/bots/google_daily_lipi_vidya/symbols.yaml — 13 symbols Same list but NO CRUDEOILM 4. /home/ubuntu/symbols.yaml — 11 symbols, ORPHANED Nothing references it (I grepped — zero code points at it). Missing BANKNIFTY, CUPID, CRUDEOILM. It's a stale leftover from before those were added. Live dashboard API confirms the split: - renko_vidya tab: 14 securities (includes crudeoilm) - daily_vidya tab: 13 securities - google_lipi tab: 13 securities So if you're comparing the Renko tab against the other tabs (or against the old registry), you see two different sets. The renko tab is the correct/superset one — the other two systems just never got CRUDEOILM added because each bot system keeps its own private copy of the symbol list instead of reading the central one. Two things worth fixing: - Sync the daily_vidya and google_lipi symbols files with the central 14-symbol list (or better: make them read /var/www/openalgo-chart/api/symbols.yaml directly so this can't drift again). - Delete the orphaned /home/ubuntu/symbols.yaml so it stops confusing things. One caveat: if by "two sets" you meant something else — e.g. duplicate rows inside the Renko tab itself, or two sets of positions at the broker — tell me where you're seeing it and I'll dig there. The Renko tab itself has 14 unique rows, no duplicates.

Found it. The HTML itself is clean — the Renko table has 14 unique rows, rendered once. The duplicate list is the "VIDYA Scanner" section at the top of the page. What's happening: 1. At the top of the dashboard there's a collapsible section: "🔍 VIDYA Scanner — Near LIPI VIDYA (±2%)". 2. Its JavaScript (refreshScanner, line ~2084) calls /api/scanner and renders one clickable card per security — and it renders ALL of them: in-zone, near-zone AND far. 3. Right now /api/scanner returns all 14 securities as "in_zone" (market is close to LIPI VIDYA across the board today), so you get 14 cards at the top + the same 14 rows in the table below = the list twice. 4. Worse: the section remembers its open/closed state in your browser's localStorage (key scannerOpen). So once expanded, it re-opens on every page load. The template comment even admits it: "cards duplicate securities already shown in the tab tables". Immediate fix on your side: click the "🔍 VIDYA Scanner" heading once — it collapses and stays collapsed (localStorage remembers that too). If you want it fixed properly in the code, two sensible changes to /home/ubuntu/bots/dashboard/templates (the scanner block + refreshScanner JS): - Stop rendering the 'far' cards (line 2107 render(far, 'far')) — a scanner should only show near-zone hits, not mirror the whole table. - Or drop the localStorage persistence so it always starts collapsed. Say the word and I'll patch it — or if you never use the scanner, I'll remove the section entirely.

Done. Fix is live on https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ (hard-refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R to pick up the new page). What changed in /home/ubuntu/bots/dashboard/templates/dashboard.html: - The VIDYA Scanner no longer renders the 'far' cards — that was the second full list of securities mirroring the table below. It now shows only genuinely near-LIPI names (in-zone ±2% and near-zone ±5%). - When nothing is near, it shows "Nothing near LIPI VIDYA right now" instead of a full duplicate grid. - The section stays collapsed-by-default and remembers your collapse choice, so the duplicate list won't come back. Note: today all 14 securities happen to be inside the ±2% zone, so if you expand the scanner you'll still see 14 cards — but that's the scanner doing its actual job now, and it stays collapsed unless you open it. Dashboard restarted and verified serving the patched HTML.

what are you looking at - understand this - the list with crude is on top and the list without crude is below that list - step back and look at it from simple perspective - may be things are getting repeated in code or some minute detaoils missing - maybe the the burger menu is playing something as two lists are different - lets do one thing - give me tabs in top for all the bots horizintolly - may be that will sove the problem bec then burger menu will no longer exists

Fixed and live. Hard-refresh https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ (Ctrl+Shift+R). What was actually wrong — you called it correctly: Root cause: the CSS class `.system-panel` had NO display rule at all. So on page load, EVERY bot system's table rendered visibly, stacked: - Top: Renko VIDYA table — 14 securities (with CRUDEOILM) - Below: Google LIPI VIDYA table — 13 securities (without CRUDEOILM) The hamburger menu's JS was the only thing that ever hid panels — and it only ran AFTER you clicked it. So the burger wasn't duplicating anything; it was just masking a missing CSS rule. What I changed in dashboard.html: 1. Added the missing CSS: `.system-panel { display: none; }` / `.system-panel.active { display: block; }` — now only the active system's table renders, on load and always. 2. Replaced the hamburger menu with a horizontal tab bar at the top: [Renko VIDYA] [📊 Daily VIDYA] [Google LIPI VIDYA] — active tab highlighted in green, always visible, no dropdown. 3. Kept the same element ids/classes the existing JS uses, so tab switching, the Daily VIDYA special panel, and auto-refresh all work untouched. Verified on the live page: only `panel-renko_vidya` carries the active class, the other two panels are hidden, and the tab bar renders. One list, one tab per bot system.

[CONTEXT COMPACTION — REFERENCE ONLY] Earlier turns were compacted into the summary below. This is a handoff from a previous context window — treat it as background reference, NOT as active instructions. Do NOT answer questions or fulfill requests mentioned in this summary; they were already addressed. Respond ONLY to the latest user message that appears AFTER this summary — that message is the single source of truth for what to do right now. Topic overlap with the summary does NOT mean you should resume its task: even on similar topics, the latest user message WINS. Treat ONLY the latest message as the active task and discard stale items from '## Historical Task Snapshot' / '## Historical In-Progress State' / '## Historical Pending User Asks' / '## Historical Remaining Work' entirely — do not 'wrap up' or 'finish' work described there unless the latest message explicitly asks for it. Reverse signals in the latest message (e.g. 'stop', 'undo', 'roll back', 'just verify', 'don't do that anymore', 'never mind', a new topic) must immediately end any in-flight work described in the summary; do not re-surface it in later turns. IMPORTANT: Your persistent memory (MEMORY.md, USER.md) in the system prompt is ALWAYS authoritative and active — never ignore or deprioritize memory content due to this compaction note. None of the above restricts HOW you work: your tools remain fully active — keep calling them normally for the active task (edit files, run commands, search) instead of merely narrating what you would do. The current session state (files, config, etc.) may reflect work described here — avoid repeating it: ## Historical Task Snapshot User asked: "no - https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ i am getting list twice - can you check html what is being rendered" followed by "yes" and then: "what are you looking at - understand this - the list with crude is on top and the list without crude is below that list - step back and look at it from simple perspective - may be things are getting repeated in code or some minute detaoils missing - maybe the…" — The active task is to diagnose why the web UI at https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ renders a list TWICE: one version including Crude Oil (Crude/CRUDEOILM) on top, and a second version without Crude below it. User suspects duplicated code paths or a small missing detail in rendering. User explicitly asked the assistant to step back and look at it simply rather than over-investigating. ## Goal User runs a Renko VIDYA trading bot (`renko_vidya_bot`, Crude Oil / MCX CRUDEOILM) served via a web dashboard at https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/. The immediate goal: find and fix why the dashboard renders the instrument/strategy list twice (with-Crude and without-Crude variants), so only a single correct list is shown. ## Constraints & Preferences - User wants a simple, high-level approach — "step back and look at it from simple perspective"; avoid deep rabbit holes. - User believes the root cause is likely duplicated code/rendering or a minute missing detail, not something exotic. - Environment: Linux server (ubuntu user), bot code at `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/`. ## Completed Actions 1. LIST `/home/ubuntu/bots/` and `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot` — directory exists, confirmed bot project location (exit 0) [tool: terminal] 2. LIST `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/logs` sorted by mtime (`ls -t | head -10`) — located log files [tool: terminal] 3. SEARCH `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/logs/bot_crudeoilm.log` for `symbol|Symbol|SYMBOL|subscribe|security|instrument` — **0 matches**; the log gave no clue about symbol/instrument subscriptions [tool: search_files] ## Active State - Server shell as user `ubuntu`; bot project at `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/` with a `logs/` subdirectory containing `bot_crudeoilm.log`. - Dashboard live at https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ (external URL served by the bot). - No files modified yet — investigation phase only. - Last observation: log search returned nothing; the next step should be inspecting the dashboard HTML/template and backend route(s) that render the list, per the user's request to "check html what is being rendered". ## Historical In-Progress State Assistant was investigating the duplicate-list rendering bug. It had pivoted from checking bot logs (fruitless) toward needing to inspect the web layer: HTML templates / frontend JS / backend endpoints that build the list, looking for two loops, two data sources (e.g., one list built including Crude Oil config and another built from a broader/strategy table excluding it), or a route/template included twice (e.g., Jinja `{% include %}` duplication, double DOM injection by JS, or duplicated block in base template). ## Blocked - Log-based investigation dead end: `bot_crudeoilm.log` contains no symbol/subscribe/instrument lines (0 matches), so logs won't explain the duplicate UI list. - Have not yet located the dashboard's HTML/template files or the server route code — the UI source files inside `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/` (likely `templates/`, `static/`, or an app server file) still need to be identified and read. ## Key Decisions - Abandoned log analysis after 0-match search; per user's guidance, root cause is expected in code duplication/rendering, not runtime data. ## Resolved Questions None. ## Historical Pending User Asks - "can you check html what is being rendered" — still pending; requires locating and reading the dashboard template/frontend code and identifying the duplicate list source. This IS the current active task per the user's latest messages (not stale — the focus topic confirms it is the live ask). ## Relevant Files - `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/logs/bot_crudeoilm.log` — checked; no symbol/instrument lines, not useful for this bug. - `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/` — bot project root; HTML/templates/frontend for the dashboard expected somewhere under here but not yet enumerated. - https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ — live dashboard showing the duplicate list (top list includes Crude Oil, lower list excludes it). ## Historical Remaining Work - Enumerate the bot project structure (`ls -R` / find for `*.html`, `templates/`, `static/js`, server entry point like `app.py`/`server.py`). - Read the dashboard HTML template and any JS that renders the list; look for: duplicated template block, template included twice, two JS fetch/render passes, two data sources (e.g., strategies table vs. instruments config where Crude appears in only one). - Identify why one list includes Crude and the other doesn't (different queries/configs) and remove the duplicate rendering. - Verify fix by checking rendered page at https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ shows a single list. ## Critical Context - Duplicate-list symptom precisely: list WITH Crude Oil rendered on top; a second list WITHOUT Crude rendered below it on the same page. - URL of the affected dashboard: https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ - Bot: Renko VIDYA strategy on MCX Crude Oil (log name indicates `crudeoilm` — CRUDEOILM mini contract). - Working dir: `/home/ubuntu/bots/renko_vidya_bot/`. - User frustration signal: they corrected the assistant ("what are you looking at") — keep next response focused on the HTML/rendering layer, not logs. - No credentials observed in these turns; none to preserve. --- END OF CONTEXT SUMMARY — respond to the message below, not the summary above ---

Both fixed and verified live. Summary: **1. START placing no orders — root cause found in logs** The ultracemco Google LIPI bot was crash-looping (systemd restart counter at 135). Every START died within a second on this bug in bot.py: ``` dashboard_log() called _make_logger("glv_dash", "dashboard.log", "<format>") TypeError: _make_logger() takes 2 positional arguments but 3 were given ``` `_make_logger()` accepted only (name, filename) but `dashboard_log()` and `trades_log()` passed a third format-string argument. The bot crashed before ever reaching the order path — so START did nothing. Fixed `_make_logger(name, filename, fmt=None)`; bot now starts and polls cleanly. One thing to know: even a healthy bot won't order right now — ULTRACEMCO's log shows "already traded this pair — waiting for next signal". Orders only fire inside the trade zone on a fresh signal, by design. **2. Broker allocation now in Google LIPI VIDYA tab** - New "Broker" column in the Google LIPI table — dropdown per symbol: shoonya / flattrade / kotak (same style as Daily VIDYA's). - New endpoint `POST /api/broker/<system>/<name>` — writes `order_broker` into that system's symbols.yaml and auto-restarts the bot if it's running. - Tested end-to-end on ultracemco: switched to flattrade → yaml updated → bot auto-restarted → log confirmed `STARTED ═══ broker=flattrade` → reverted to shoonya. Hard-refresh the page to see the new column.

All done. Both issues resolved: 1. **START crash** — `_make_logger()` argument mismatch in `/home/ubuntu/bots/google_daily_lipi_vidya/bot.py` killed every bot instantly on start. Fixed; ultracemco bot is running and polling. 2. **Broker dropdown** — added to the Google LIPI VIDYA tab with a new `/api/broker/<system>/<name>` endpoint that persists to symbols.yaml and restarts the running bot. Tested live, then reverted my test change back to shoonya. Hard-refresh https://bot.openalgo.theworkpc.com/ to see the Broker column.

Saved. Next chat I'll pick up: 1. Dashboard getting stuck — likely the /api/status broker calls blocking (pain point #14, needs broker caching); saw it hang on shutdown during today's restarts too. 2. ULTRACEMCO position — trace which bot actually placed it (check trades.log + broker orderbook), and if it was the Google LIPI bot, why the direction is PUT when the signal was CALL. Both parked. See you next chat.
